Eger

The 15th Tihany Symposium will take place in Eger, a historic town in Northern Hungary. It is one of the Hungary’s most famous city with beautifully preserved baroque buildings. Eger is influenced by Christian and Turkish culture, Baroque and Classicist architecture. Eger with its legendary castle, cobbled streets and cozy downtown, immediately amazes all visitors. In addition, spa culture is also very strong, as well as viticulture – due to the characteristics of the region.

Eger is Hungary’s historical wine region. The region’s grape and viniculture dates back nearly 1,000 years. The best place to try exceptional wines in Eger is in the Valley of Beautiful Women (Szépasszony völgy). Here you will find more than 200 producers, some of the best wines in Hungary, assembled along one of the country’s most famous wine cellar routes. These are typically open year-round and all day long.

Eger Park & Hotel

Eger Park & Hotel (3300 Eger, Szálloda út 1-3.) is located in the heart of Eger, next to the basilica and the theater. The Park wing of the hotel has been in the spotlight with its centuries-old history, and the Eger wing was the first modern hotel in the city.
