Transfer

On 23 August 2024, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, our colleagues will be at the airport arrival gate holding Tihany posters, ready to assist you. The planned bus departure times are as follows: 

  • Around 1:30 PM
  • Around 6:00 PM

PLEASE INFORM US OF YOUR ARRIVAL TIME (if you haven’t already done so). 

The first bus will depart at approximately 1:30 PM from Hampton, Dessewffy Street 7-11, Budapest, 1066. It is expected to arrive at the airport shortly after 2:00 PM. The second bus will depart directly from the airport, at 6 PM. Unfortunately, some participants will have to wait a few hours for the transfer buses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.

 

How to Get from Budapest to Eger by Train

Trains to Eger depart from Keleti Railway Station every hour on the hour. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, with tickets costing around 8-10 euros.


Getting from the airport to Keleti takes about 40 minutes by public transport. If you prefer to travel by train earlier than the transfer buses, you can leave your luggage at the airport (the bus will bring it to Eger later). If you need assistance getting to the train station, our colleagues will be happy to help, but please inform us of this in advance.
You can book your ticket online and present it on your smartphone, or purchase it at the station from ticket machines or ticket offices. The ticket machines, offices, and train departures are located upstairs.
